For years, I've felt a connection between myself and penguins, as well as myself and homelessness, but it's only been recently (Spring 2022) that I've felt a connection between penguins and homelessness.

Penguins and homeless people both endure such harsh conditions as part of their daily life and are part of a population of beings who have lost or are losing their homes. So even though the connection isn't obvious at first sight, it's there. Penguin endangerment and homelessness are serious topics to get into, and those involved in it could use as much help as they could get... but let's be honest, it's a lot easier to approach a serious subject when there's a cute and fuzzy hook involved.

Hence, the penguin plushies.

Not only do they provide a symbol of this connection, but they start the conversation about the connection between penguins and homelessness, plus how people can help.

So how do we get the plushies to start conversation? By making and selling as many of them as we can to as many people as we can. That way, the conversations about this start, and people know that they're supporting a good cause, as all the proceeds from selling the penguin plushies go to fighting homelessness. Perhaps, if there's enough proceeds in the future, this can expand to aiding penguin conservation as well.
